The Pentecostal Assembly Muscat, which was formerly known as Oman Pentecostal Assembly (OPA), is considered as the largest Malayalee Pentecostal congregation in the Middle East. Ever since its inception in 1973, the church has grown from strength to strength.
When the Sultanate of Oman initiated its economic development in the early seventies with its rich oil income, Indians started coming to the country for employment. A major chunk of these expatriate workers were Keralites, including Pentecostal believers.
